Look kids, the beach is in Boston
The beach has arrived in Boston. Tonnes of sand were tipped into the timber frame in Central Park yesterday, ready for the fun to begin at 10am today until 3pm, and the same again tomorrow.
Chris Patchett, of IGC Plant Services, Anton's Gowt, is pictured preparing to shovel and level more than 30 tonnes of sand.
This summer's beach is double the size of last year's. Once again there will be traditional seaside attractions such as donkey rides and beach-related arts and crafts, plus bouncy castles, circus skills, games and competitions, all for free from 10am to 3pm both days.
