Launch of council's pool bike scheme

A healthier, greener and more economical form of business transport is now available for staff based at the Municipal Buildings.

First to try out the pool bikes were Katie and Rachel, from Environmental Heath, who now complete some of their inspections and visits on two wheels instead of four. Katie said: "The pool bikes are a big help, allowing easier access to local premises while at the same time offering the opportunity for fresh air and exercise."

Leader of the Council, Cllr Michael Cooper, who instigated the project said: "I am delighted to see the pool bike scheme taking off and hope more staff will take advantage of it."

Two pool bikes are currently stored in the cycle shed at the rear of the Municipal Buildings and will shortly be joined by a third, donated by Lincolnshire County Council's sustainable travel team. They can be booked via the pool car booking system provided you are over 18.
