First big beach event in Central Park success
The first of the FREE beach special events was held on Monday from 2pm to 4pm in Central Park.
The Golden Time aimed at the over-60s entertained many with 78DJ playing music and people joining in for a sing-a-long with their very own song sheets in hand.
There was also beach games to join in and play and for those not so energetic and wanting to relax there was free deck chairs, soaking up the atmosphere and feel the sand between your toes.
Frances Taylor, event organiser said: "To bring the community together in this way gave everyone a chance to meet new people and make new friends. Those attending really enjoyed being in such a lovely setting, out in the fresh air and relaxing around the beach whilst singing or just chilling in the deck chairs. It was nice to have Ancaster Court singing group join us and the 78DJ really brought some fun to the event. My thanks goes to Boston Big Local for funding this event and there are more to come on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 August 10am to 3pm we have a two day family event where there will be donkey's, art and crafts, fun sports, toddler play, bouncy castles and more, then on Tuesday, August 21 we are holding a session from 1pm to 3pm for those with additional support needs and on the Thuesday, August 28 we are holding another sing a long for those living with dementia and their carer's. All of these events are FREE and are all funded by Boston Big Local."
