"Treading the Boards"
Arrive at Boston Guildhall at 11.30am on Saturday for the second tour, scheduled to leave at 11.45am, for a walk through Blackfriars Theatre and an opportunity to view Shodfriars Hall.
These two historic buildings provide a behind-the-scenes look at the historic and present Boston Theatre.
Tickets for the tour and talk must be purchased in advance of the day. There will be two tours, 11am (SOLD OUT) and 11.45am, and while you are with us enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee with biscuits here at the Guildhall. Your ticket for the tours also includes entry to the afternoon lecture "Treading the Boards" at 1pm and the tours and talks will be led by Neil Wright who will be here as Sandra during the morning and for the afternoon lecture at 1pm Neil will dress as a traditional dame to enhance the theme of the talk. After walking through Shodfriars and seeing behind the scenes - where the original "Old Mother Riley" trod the boards and began her theatrical career - the scene is really set for the afternoon lecture.
