Council backs affordable homes declaration
Boston Borough Council has shown its support for an initiative aimed at increasing the supply of affordable homes.
At Thursday's meeting of Boston Borough Council, council leader, Cllr Peter Bedford, and chief executive Richard Harbord, jointly signed the East Midlands Councils Declaration on Affordable Housing.
The declaration seeks political commitment from all councils in the region to doing everything they can to increase supply of affordable homes in their areas.
The principles support the borough council's housing strategy 2012 to 2017 and commits the council to working with developers, housing associations and the Homes and Communities Agency to maximise opportunities and resources to deliver well designed new affordable homes on suitable sites.
