Carlton Road School clean-up crew

The Carlton Road clean-up crew has been busy in the summer holiday. Children from the school ran a litter pick just outside the school perimeter filling around 40 black plastic sacks with rubbish.

About 20 children from the Carlton Road Academy  took part assisted and supported by Jen Moore from Boston Borough Council, Roxy Hall,  Stephen Bromby and Peter Robbins from Asda and Jon Bush and Liam Gelsthorpe from McDonald's.

With Asda and McDonald's in support the junior litter pickers were guaranteed a reward of refreshments.

Jen, the council's environment and sustainability officer, said: "Everyone worked so hard. We had a great time telling jokes, singing songs, eating... oh, and some litter picking!  The children were really proud about what they had achieved and I am certain they will all encourage their friends to dispose of their litter properly."
