Havenside Local Nature Reserve - Wasps Nests

The public is asked to be vigilant when walking though Havenside Local Nature Reserve.

We are aware of two wasps' nests. One nest is close to the ground next to a path half way along the fenceline running alongside Metsa Wood. The other nest is located near the entrance to the nature reserve from Powel Street. Wasps are a natural part of our environment and do not generally cause many problems to people, but if active nests are disturbed then wasps can sting. We ask in particular for dog walkers to be aware and consider putting dogs on leads in these locations and for parents with young children to be alert when visiting this area.
