The misery of Wormgate a year ago will be cast aside as a bad memory when "Wormgate Bites Back" at an anniversary event being held on Friday, December 5.
The Big Breakfast - Wormgate Bites Back event will start at 9.30am in the Blenkin Memorial Hall, where free bacon butties will be served until 11.30am.
From 2pm there will be guided tours of St Botolph's Church (Boston Stump) and free tea and cake will be served at the Blenkin Memorial Hall between 4pm and 6pm.
There will be a fire engine with crew outside The Stump between 4pm and 6pm.
A carol service after tea and a light festival (which is organised for Thursdays in December) will also run on the Friday in The Stump.
Throughout the day there will be a quiz to complete which qualifies entry into a raffle with fabulous prizes donated by Wormgate businesses.
Team rector at The Stump, the Rev Canon Alyson Buxton, said: "December the 5th impacted everyone in our town in different ways. In Wormgate many of the businesses were flooded, my own vicarage was flooded and of course, as you know, our much-loved church was seriously flooded.
"I love the saying that there are always 'diamonds in the debris' - this saying was true of the positive consequences of the flood. The 'diamonds' in our debris was a pulling together of the Wormgate traders and our church community in a new sense of unity and camaraderie. A practical expression of this unity will be our community event 'Wormgate Bites Back' on Friday, December 5.
"This event is not to raise money or demand anything of you other than your presence and being prepared to visit The Stump, the businesses in Wormgate and to be diligent and eat a free bacon butty!
"Please come and support us and help us together to continue to build a community in which we are proud to live."
