Boston falls silent for Armistice Day

Armed forces members, supporters and public figures joined together at Boston's War Memorial yesterday to observe the two-minute silence for Armistice Day.

The service was led by the Rev Canon Alyson Buxton, vicar of St Botolph's (Boston Stump) who welcomed everyone to remember the sacrifices made.

A reading from St John's Gospel was followed by The Lord's Prayer, prayer for The Queen and for Peace of the World.

The Act of Homage was recited by Mike Houldershaw, President of the Royal British Legion Boston district branch, and the two-minute silence followed the playing of the Last Post.

Hand-made wreaths were laid by three Boston High School students and children from Boston Pioneer Free School Academy.
