The Princess Royal Sports Arena opened in October 2003 and houses the following facilities:
55-station gym with cardiovascular, resistance and free-weight areas;
exercise studio with comprehensive class timetable offering full range of health, fitness and wellbeing classes;
athletics arena;
indoor hall;
swimming pool;
Jacuzzi;
steam room and sauna;
body and skincare salon;
solarium;
lounge / refreshment area;
rugby club.
The complex has a team of fully-qualified fitness and studio instructors to help you improve your fitness, lose weight and tone up, train for an event, or simply relax and unwind.
The facility boasts an impressive athletics arena, a superb indoor training hall, bar, café and rugby facilities.
The indoor training hall incorporates badminton, 5-a-side, rugby and athletics. The state-of-the-art artificial grass area is ideal for both rugby and goalkeeper training.
Also available are meeting and function rooms, which can be hired by the hour, day or half day, providing the ideal venue for that crucial business meeting, training day or social function.
The swimming pool can be hired for private parties, between 6pm to 7pm on a Saturday evening, leaving normal opening hours free for normal swimming or exercise classes.
The Princess Royal Sports Arena was planned from the outset with disabled users in mind, to enable all the facilities to be enjoyed by everyone. The design enables all users to have easy access throughout the site, gaining equal benefit through use of the facilities.
Indoors and outdoors, PRSA has superb facilities for both recreational and serious users. Facilities are avalable to both members and casual users.
The 20,000 sq ft sports hall is complete with:
• 60m six-lane running track (with roll door end);
• 2 badminton courts;
• Astroturf rugby training area;
• five-side-football.
The health and fitness club is not just a superb facility, but each member can have a tailor-made programme using Fit for You on-line system to help you improve the state of your all-round fitness, lose weight, recover from a particular injury or train for a particular sports event.
The studio runs a variety of classes to suit all abilities, with 30 hours of classes per week from spinning to pilates.
As well as working out and enjoying the class timetable, you can relax in the hydro suite or take advantage of the new beauty treatment salon.
All facilities have been designed for total inclusion and access to all.
If you are looking for a corporate or schools sports day then PRSA has impressive track and field facilities, complete with covered stadium seating. For trade and hobby exhibitions the three halls (20,000 sq ft, 8,000 sq ft and 2,500 sq ft) can be used individually or combined. Weddings, parties and functions can be accommodated in either the rugby clubrooms or the function room, and company or association meetings are catered for in a number of meeting/seminar rooms.
