Boston Community Transport is an independant organisation with charitable status, whose aim is to provide accessible transport for the community through a range of schemes including Dial-A-Ride (Tel: 01205 315934), a Community Car Scheme (Tel: 01205 315935)and Shopmobility.(Tel: 01205 315936).
They provide an accessible door to door services for those unable to access existing forms of transport and have no alternative transport available due to there being no service available, age or frailty, disability or need for assistance.
Trustees
The Board of Trustees are now looking for forward-thinking people to join members to help further develop the organisation and are particularly keen to attract experience in one or more of the following areas: commercial activities, financial matters, youth groups, isolated communities, disability awareness and secretarial skills.
Trustee meetings are usually held bid-monthly and generally trustees give about six hours of their time a month.
In brief the Board of Trustees collectively:
Set and maintain the organisation's vision, mission and values
Develop strategy
Establish and monitor policies
Ensure compliance with governing document
Ensure accountability
Maintain proper fiscal oversight and sound risk management
Ensure compliance with the law
Maintain effective governing body performance
Enhance the public image of Boston Community Transport
