Boston Borough Council holds and maintains the Boston Common Housing Register that provides a single route of access to all affordable rented housing within the Borough.

Whilst the Council no longer owns any housing stock, we work in close partnership with all social housing providers in the Borough to provide a single route of access for people looking for an affordable home.

Boston Homechoice, a Choice Based Lettings scheme, has been operating since Jan 2007. Available properties are advertised on the Boston Homechoice website,  www.bostonhomechoice.co.uk, in the Property Magazine and in partner offices. Bids are invited from members of the Housing Register.

There are very few restrictions to joining the register, although the banding system used gives varying degrees of priority depending on your housing circumstances. Information on the working of the Common Housing Register can be accessed by clicking on the Guide to the Boston Choice Based Lettings Scheme.

A housing registration form can be obtained by contacting the Council directly or can be downloaded and printed by clicking the Housing Registration Form.

A full copy of the Boston Choice Based Lettings Policy Framework can be accessed here. This policy gives the full information behind the banding system, eligibility, exclusions and a statement as to how the Council and its partners offer choice to applicants seeking an affordable home.

Ways to bid:

By Phone - call 01205 318628. Ensure you have your membership number to hand as well as a pen and paper to note your preferences.

By Text - Text your membership number, followed by #. Type your preferences, then #. You can choose up to three properties in any advert cycle. Send your text to 07624819020.

By Coupon - use the coupons provide with your membership card or cut out the coupon from the property magazine.

Via the Internet - log on to www.bostonhomechoice.co.uk

In person - at any of our partners' Customer Service areas.

Please be aware that your banding, effective date and status may alter in line with any changes in your circumstances, and it is therefore important that if your circumstances do change, you notify the Housing Needs Department immediately. Failure to notify any changes may result in your application being cancelled.
