The Corporate Management Team works closely with the Cabinet to give strategic direction to the council.

Role and Responsibilities
The role and responsibilities of CMT include:

  • - leading and inspiring officers of the authority;
  • - providing the link between the Cabinet and the rest of the authority;
  • - implementing the decisions made by Cabinet, Committees and the Council;
  • - making sure the Council's vision and corporate priorities are delivered;
  • - having the final decision-making responsibility at Officer level;
  • - oversight of key corporate issues such as consultation, Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), budget prioritisation and human resources;
  • - strategic planning and implementation of agreed priorities;
  • - monitoring performance;
  • - managing the media and public expectations;
  • - establishing links with new partners and maintaining and enhancing links with existing partners to tackle joint issues in an effective and cross cutting manner; and
  • - promoting Boston Borough Council and the Borough itself in a county, regional and national context as well as locally

CMT meet fortnightly on a Tuesday. The agenda comprises strategic corporate issues. Minutes are circulated to Senior Managers Team (SMT) for information and dissemination to staff. Chairing of CMT meetings is rotated through its members.
