Elected on 3rd May 2007, Councillor John Storry is a Member of the Audit Panel and the Licensing / Regulatory & Appeals Committee, as well as the internal Joint Consultative Committee, International Links Committee and Chief Officer Employment Panel. Councillor Storry also represents the Council on the Lincolnshire Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the East Midlands Museums Service.

Educated at King Edward VII School, Sheffield, his professional education continued throughout his working life following his demobilisation from active service with the Royal Air Force in the Suez Canal Zone.

After spending some years in joint-stock banking, the offer of a directorship in the entertainment industry opened the door to a new career in acting and music, involving occasional radio broadcasting and theatre appearances. Public tastes changed over the years and he subsequently became a victim of company downsizing at a time in his life when re-employment in senior management was unlikely.

Having already acquired a pilots licence, Councillor Storry decided to undertake additional training to obtain instructor qualifications which led to him becoming a Staff Instructor at the Royal Air Force Cranwell Gliding Club. On retirement from flying duties the quest for adventure continued and he was appointed Company Secretary and Financial Controller at Boston Divers Limited.

Summarising his attitude to life, Councillor Storry says " I have always had a huge fascination for challenges. When the opportunity arose to become a Councillor, I believed that my widely contrasting life experiences would allow me to make a positive contribution towards the prosperity of the local community by repaying in some measure the boundless help and assistance I myself have received down the years."
