Elected on 3rd May 2007, Councillor Jim Blaylock is a Member of Cabinet and is the portfolio holder for Parks, Amenities and Rural Communities. He is also a member of the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) and the internal Way Forward Group.

In his role as Councillor, Councillor Blaylock also represents the Council on the Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board and the Boston Woods Trust.

Having lived in the Boston area for over 25 years, Councillor Blaylock works as a self employed Agronomist. Working on local farms throughout Lincolnshire the work involves ensuring that foodstuffs produced are to the highest possible standards.

Viewing his future role within the Council, Councillor Blaylock advises, "My key objective is to improve the traffic situation within the town, with the ultimate goal being to ensure a new bypass. However, by 'opening up' the Council to the public in order to allow a greater understanding of how it actually works and how the decision making process operates, I hope to be able to encourage members of the public from all age groups to enter into public debate."
