Elected on 3rd May 2007, Councillor Gerry Clare served as The Deputy Mayor of Boston for 2008/09.

Councillor Clare is now a Member of the Cabinet, holding the portfolio for Regulatory Services and Environmental Operations, and is a Member of the Licensing/Regulatory and Appeals Committee, the internal Way Forward Group and the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC).  He also represents the Council on the Boston Area Regeneration Company Executive Board, the Fydell House Centre Ltd Committee, Boston Community Transport Shadow Board, Boston District Council for Voluntary Service, Lincolnshire e-Government Joint Steering Board, Lincolnshire Shared Services Partnership Member Board as a substitute, Local Children Partnership, the St. Leonard’s Hospital Trust, the Wash and North Norfolk Coast Special Area of Conservation Members Group and the Witham Fourth District Internal Drainage Board.
