Councillor Mike Brookes served as The Worshipful the Mayor of Boston for 2007-08.

Councillor Brookes is a Member of the Planning Committee and the Overview & Scrutiny - Performance Review Committee, and is Chairman of the Overview & Scrutiny - Policy & Projects Committee.   

Councillor Brookes also represents the Council on the Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board, the Swineshead Poor Charity, the John Butler Charity and the W H & E Harlock Swineshead Almshouses Charity.
