Elected on 3rd May 2007, Councillor Sheila Newell is a Member of the Overview and Scrutiny Policy & Projects Committee, Overview and Scrutiny Performance Review & Governance Committee and Boston Town Area Committee.  Councillor Newell also acts as Council representative on the Holland Museums Panel, Neighbourhood Watch Association (Boston with Holland) and the Sir Thomas Middlecott and Others Charity Trust (Skirbeck Quarter Charities).

Locally born, Councillor Newell worked as a Nursery Teacher whilst living in Hong Kong and then as an office manager on her return to the UK, in Liverpool.

On her new role within the community Councillor Newell says " As a member of the BBI I naturally endorse the need for a Bypass, however, I also want to help make Boston an even better place to live. I will always be available to offer help whenever needed."
