Be a part of the Boston Marathon
You don't have to be able to run a marathon to be a part of something memorable.
The first Boston Marathon UK for 25 years takes place on Sunday, April 17, the day before the world famous marathon held in Boston, America.
With a growing entry for the marathon due to start in Boston Market Place at 9am, there is a need for a growing number of volunteers to help manage the event.
Rachel Lauberts and the Boston Marathon Association Committee have a number of volunteer marshals in place, but more volunteers are still needed.
Some marshal training has already taken place, but volunteers, over the age of 18, are still needed to help at water stations, relay exchange points and at road junctions.
If you want to be a part of something great, but are not up to running the whole 26 miles and 385 yards then please contact Rachel on 07835403558 or Helen on 07944754844.
Rachel said: "We now have more than 300 runners from all over the UK taking part in our marathon and we want them to be safe on our roads and for their supporters to feel welcome to our town. We can only do this with the help and support of the people of Boston, so if you can spare a few hours on Sunday, April 17, to help out it would be greatly appreciated."
Boston Marathon Association chairman, Cllr Richard Austin said: "This event will, over time, bring great benefits to the Borough of Boston."
