£2 to park all day in Boston
Charges in one of Boston Borough Council's town centre car parks are about to plummet to as little as £2 for all day Monday to Saturday.
From June 15 parking a car from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday will cost just £2, halving the current maximum charge for those periods.
The all-day, 8am to 6pm Sunday charge will remain a bargain basement £1.20.
New cash-saving longer-term charges are to be introduced on June 15 for the Tunnard Street car park - £8 for a round-the-clock five-day stay and £10 for seven-day stay. There are 145 parking spaces at this car park, and just a few minutes' walk from the Market Place.
Cllr Paul Skinner, Boston Borough Council's town centre portfolio holder, said: "For any motorist able to walk a short distance this is a really handy car park for the town centre and it almost always has available spaces. In these difficult economic times - difficult both for the council and its residents - we are doing all we can to help within the budget we have to work with. The price reduction is aimed at encouraging more people to come into Boston and £2 to park all day is a bargain."
