Beach party in Central Park this week
Forget the Seychelles and Skegness, THE beach party location Wednesday and Thursday will be Central Park in Boston.
Work began yesterday to build the beach in the park and 30 tonnes of sand will arrive today.
This summer's beach will be double the size of last year's, which was a huge hit and enjoyed by more than 4,000 people.
Once again there will be traditional seaside attractions such as donkey rides and beach-related arts and crafts, plus bouncy castles, circus skills, games and competitions, all for free from 10am to 3pm both days.
Boston Big Local will again fund this year's event and it will be supported by partner agencies - Mayflower Housing, Boston Children's Centre, Transported Arts and Boston United in the Community.
The fun continues on Friday with the latest Family Fun Friday free event in the Market Place. Everyone will have a chance to have a go on a giant and exotic musical instrument. The Gamelan is a 20-piece percussive instrument and will be available from 10am to 3pm.
The Lincoln Community Gamelan is a genuine Indonesian instrument and creates entrancing music.
Last Friday's entertainment included world travellers Explorers Galorers, from Rhubarb Theatre, who landed by hot air balloon in the Market Place on Friday to share tales of their exciting global adventures.
If you missed them they will back again on Wednesday at the first of the two days of beach fun in Central Park.
