Boston's Own Sausage and Beer festival success
Real Ale, Great Sausages and Live Music - that's what this festival is all about.
Groups of friends and families gathered to join us for this first event on Saturday in Central Park, the sun was shining and the bands were playing with a fun-filled line up of music throughout the day. People enjoyed sampling up to 17 varieties of beer from Lincolnshire Brewing Company and for those who didn't have a liking for the ale there was a choice of ciders, wines and Pimms.
Samplings of different local sausages proved popular with the visitors, with Boston Sausage winning the Gold award for Best Sausage, Carl Dunham's coming second and H Dawsons coming in third place. Throughout the day, Dunham's and Dawson's butchers were both sampling different varieties of sausages, with the option for people to try and buy if they wanted. Boston Sausage was selling burgers and hot dogs all with their locally-made ingredients.
The children's area with outdoor garden games, colouring and princesses from Twinkle Twinkle Little Party proved popular.
People took to Facebook to comment on the event page, posting the following:
Ali Wright said: "What a fab afternoon a great opportunity for local business and local talent me and my friends had a wonderful afternoon so well organised well done to all involved pity we missed the dance off"
Alan Pooley, said: "What a great day! We came about 3pm and stayed til the end. Based on some comments I have seen, I can agree that it wasn't perfect but this was the first one in what is hopefully an annual event. This is a great opportunity for local producers to showcase their produce and for us locals to get behind them. Oh and I never expected the dance off"
Barney Harvey, said: "MMmm sausages"
Dave Overton, said "....great selection of real ales. And polite and helpful staff. Looking forward to next year"

It has given us a great starting platform to develop an exciting annual event. I would like to thank everyone including Mountain's Boston Sausage, H Dawsons & Sons and Carl Dunham's butchers who supported this event and a very big thank you to Duncan & Toplis for their sponsorship."
