Appeal for food donations and volunteers
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income.
The project manager for the Boston and Sutterton Foodbanks is appealing for donations. Many people already donate on regular occasions but they are in need currently of the following items:
• Longlife milk
• Fruit squash
• Tinned meat
• Tinned fish
• Toilet rolls
• Shower gel
• Wet wipes
• Strong carrier bags
We can help them to make a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.
If you can spare any of the above please take to The Stump any day of the week, St Christopher's Church on Fenside on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 2pm or St Mary's Church in Sutterton on Fridays 10am to 2pm.
They are also appealing for more volunteers especially on a Thursday at St. Christopher's Church on Fenside from 11.45am to 2pm. Could you help?
Centrepoint Outreach located in Red Lion Street on the corner of Tunnard Street, a local charity (helping the homeless and vulnerable in Boston and the surrounding borough) is also appealing for volunteers. Vounteers are required for drop-in, in the shop or helping sort items in the stores - morning or afternoon slots, aproximately 3 to 4 hours a week.
Anyone with any administration skills, taking minutes at meetings, computer work etc would also be really helpful too.
