Healthy Eating and Cook4Life
Eating a healthy, balanced diet is an important part of maintaining good health and can help you feel your best.
It can be simple, too.
The two keys to a healthy diet are:-
- Eat the right number of calories for how active you are, so you balance the energy you consume with the energy you use. The average man needs 2,500 calories a day. The average women needs 2,000 calories.
- Eat a wide range of foods to ensure that you're getting a balanced diet and that your body is receiving all the nutrients it needs.
To maintain a healthy diet, the eatwell plate shows you how much of what you eat should come from each group.
Cook4Life managed by Boston Mayflower Limited, shows you through quick and easy steps how to create a tasty, nutritious and healthy meal for you and your family.
You will also get tips on food hygiene, shopping, labelling, using leftovers and growing your own produce.
Funded by the NHS Lincolnshire, these practical and fun cookery lessons are available at a variety of convenient locations in the Boston area. For more details please contact Bev Chapman details to the left of this page.
