Council working with local suppliers
Local suppliers have a new opportunity for work thanks to Boston Borough Council. Contract procedure rules have been redrawn with a focus on provision of contracts to local firms.
To ensure adequate competition, but to maximise use of local companies, future contracts worth up to £5,000 will be awarded on the basis of one verbal quotation, using a local supplier if appropriate.
For contract values of £5,000 to £10,000 a minimum of two written quotations will be sought, one from a local supplier.
And from £10,000 to £25,000 a minimum of three written quotations will be sought, with one from a local supplier.
Local suppliers can register on Source Lincolnshire - www.sourcelincolnshire.co.uk - for email alerts for contracts in excess of £25,000.
A local supplier is defined as one who demonstrates the provision of meaningful employment opportunities to residents of the borough.
