Nominate your local hero

Could you help to give a volunteer in the Boston area the recognition they deserve?

If so then nominations are being sought for this year's 2012 Voluntary Sector Recognition Awards organised by local Voluntary Sector support and development organisation, Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (Lincolnshire CVS). 

The awards categories are:

Voluntary Sector Recognition Certificate - awarded to individuals and community groups who have made an outstanding voluntary contribution within their local communities.

Jim Hopkins MBE Award - awarded to a young volunteer who has shown dedication to local voluntary action.

Bert Shaw MBE Award - awarded to an individual demonstrating excellence in their work on a management committee or board of trustees.

Jane Rose Award - awarded to an individual who has shown dedication to improving health and well-being in the local community.

Business Award - In recognition of a local business who has actively encouraged employees to volunteer in their local community.

The awards will be presented to the worthy recipients at Lincolnshire CVS's 2012 Voluntary Sector Recognition Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, October 9, as part of an evening celebrating Lincolnshire's thriving voluntary sector.

Lady Adey, Lincolnshire CVS's Chief Executive, said: "As an organisation we are so privileged that we get to work with Lincolnshire's fantastic voluntary sector on a daily basis, but this is your opportunity to say thank you to those individual volunteers and community groups and organisations you feel make your community what it is.

"This will be the sixth year that Lincolnshire CVS has held the Voluntary Sector Recognition Awards and it's a great way for us to meet and recognise the unsung heroes of the community."
