The great borough bake off

Boston Borough Council's annual staff and councillors' MacMillan coffee morning raised £500 for the charity.

Hard-working PAs, Luisa Stanney, Elaine Henton and Pauline Chapman, baked themselves silly to produce a mountain of mouth-watering cakes and pastries to tempt staff and councillors at what has become a firmly-established annual event in the council chamber at Municipal Buildings.

Other staff contributed their own efforts and, from those with an aversion to the oven, shop-bought donations were made.

Staff spent their break not counting calories, and added to the funds by taking part in a prize draw.

"A huge thank you to everyone who supported the MacMillan coffee morning, whether they bought, baked or just ate. Their generosity was extremely appreciated," said Luisa, Pauline and Elaine.
