Book now for Awesome Autumn
Young people across Lincolnshire are being given another opportunity to meet new people, build their skills and give back to the their community, thanks to National Citizen Service (NCS), a voluntary programme for young people throughout the UK
The Awesome Autumn 2013 programme, which takes place during October half-term, is now open for sign-ups, allowing those unable to take part during the summer to get involved.
NCS is a flagship Government initiative that provides young people between the ages of 15 and 17 the chance to take in new challenges, experience exciting activities, make long-lasting friends, and develop vital skills to support them later in life.
NCS also aims to promote a more cohesive, responsible and engaged society by bringing young people from different backgrounds together to make a difference in their communities.
Costing just £35 to join, the condensed Awesome Autumn programme includes a five-day stay at an outdoor adventure centre with activities such as wall-climbing and archery, two days working with businesses to improve employability skills and a social action project that allows participants an opportunity to give something back to their community.
Food and five nights of accommodation are included in the programme cost.

National Citizen Service is being delivered in this area by Boston College, Grantham College and New College Stamford
Lincolnshire and Rutland Education Business Partnership (EBP) have been selected to run this year's NCS programme for young people in Lincolnshire, Rutland, Leicestershire and Northampton in 2013. The EBP is currently leading a team of delivery partners across the four counties, under the name of NCS EM1. It is looking to recruit more than 450 young people and more than 150 mentors to take part in the summer programme.
