Philippines disaster life savers
Staff at Boston Borough Council have been credited with saving lives after responding with speed to a request to be allowed to hold a collection in aid of survivors of the Philippines disaster.
Mr Bob Skinner, of the Rotary Club of Boston, contacted council leader, Cllr Peter Bedford, to say how grateful the club was for the urgency with which council staff dealt with an application for a licence to hold a street collection
He said: "They dealt with our request with great efficiency, recognised the urgency and as a result we were able to raise over £1,300. They literally saved lives."
Cllr Bedford said it was good to hear that staff dealt with such an urgent matter with speed.
