Church Street's Christmas cracker
Christmas is coming - and if you needed further proof take a look at Boston Borough Councillor Carol Taylor decorating a virtual forest of fir trees.
They were making preparations to light up Church Street for the Christmas period. For, as well as the traditional Christmas lights strung across the street and the backdrop of the Stump, illuminated at night, Church Street traders are to display their own decorated Christmas trees on the frontages of their businesses.
The festive enterprise has been backed by Boston's B&Q branch which supplied massively discounted trees and lights.
Borough councillor Stuart Ashton made the special brackets in his farm workshop to mount the trees above head height on the fronts of buildings on both sides of Church Street.
Shop keepers in Boston's Church Street are aiming for it to be THE place to go for a traditional Christmas shopping experience this festive season.
The independent traders' group has set out to promote the street with an individual identity, taking advantage of its heritage and tradition.
