Precautionary flood warning

A precautionary flood warning will be issued for Boston today.

The high tide level will be below the normal flood warning level. The high tide at 8pm will be one metre below the December, 5 level. There will be a higher than normal police and fire and rescue presence but only to reassure residents. The warning is being issued below the normal threshold because permanent repairs to some defences damaged on December, 5 are not yet complete. The Environment Agency has stressed that it expects that the high tide to pass without incident.

Up-to-date information is available on the Environment Agency website or by calling Floodline 0845 988 1188.
