Celebrate Geoff Moulder silver anniversary

Boston's Geoff Moulder Leisure Complex celebrates its silver anniversary this year and you can take part in the celebrations.

There is 25 per cent off swimming admissions and 25 per cent off the cost of three-months' gym membership (a saving of £33.30) until Sunday (September 28).

Gym membership, just £99 until Sunday, includes fitness classes, the 60-station gym, free weights area, sauna, steam room spa pool and the 25-metre leisure pool.

The 25 per cent reduction for swimmers can be claimed by all pay-per-visit customers through the leisure pool entrance.

The complex opened on September 24, 1989, when it offered swimming only - with an indoor training pool and an outdoor leisure pool. Both are now under cover.

Over the years the complex has been extended and extra facilities such as the gym, relaxation area and upstairs children's gym added.

The complex was named after the late Cllr Reginald Geoffrey Manning Moulder, who declared it open. He served on the borough council from 1954 to 1970 and then 1973 to 1995. He was Mayor in 1965/66 and 1989/90 and chairman of the then amenity committee and the policy and resources committee. He was made an honorary freeman in 1995.

He had a keen interest in swimming and had been a long-distance swimmer.
