Appointed acting chief executive
Phil Drury has been appointed Boston Borough Council's acting chief executive, taking over from Richard Harbord, who left the council at the end of November.
Mr Drury, formerly the deputy chief executive, was unanimously recommended by the council's chief officer employment panel and appointed by the full council on Monday night.
Leader of the council, Cllr Peter Bedford, said the position of acting chief executive would be maintained for no longer than 12 months, pending a permanent appointment. Cllr Bedford said work would begin on looking at options for a permanent shared or part-time chief executive.
Mr Drury was also appointed acting returning officer and electoral registration officer - posts traditionally filled by the chief executive.
Savings of £10,000 a month will accrue during the period the post is filled on an "acting" basis.
Mr Harbord resigned after struggling with mounting family health issues for some time.
