The regeneration of the public realm area in Boston has reached a new milestone following planning approval for the first phase of the Rosegarth Square regeneration project, which was awarded £14.8 million in government funding.

At a Special Cabinet meeting held on Thursday 31 October, it was unanimously agreed to recommend to Full Council on 11 November 2024 to accept Levelling Up Partnership (LUP) funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). This funding will support several local projects, including the Boston Leisure Project, and incorporate a Community Volunteering & Wellbeing Hub and a new NHS site at Rosegarth Square.

Over the past three years, the Boston Community Leaders Engagement meetings have become the heart of community collaboration and empowerment. Established through the Empowering Healthy Communities strand, these meetings are led by the Community Leadership Team and have proven to be a vital platform for fostering engagement and strengthening community initiatives.

Community projects and skills programmes in Boston and East Lindsey have been given a boost of more than £325,000

The community is invited to attend the "Let's Talk Rubbish" event, hosted at Zion Methodist Church, Brothertoft Road, Boston PE21 8HD, on Wednesday 6 November from 10am to 6pm. This event is designed to provide valuable information on waste and recycling, and to offer a platform for residents to ask questions and participate in engaging activities.

In partnership with the St Botolph's Church, Boston Borough Council are thrilled to announce the return of the indoor Christmas Tree Festival that was a huge success in 2023!

The council remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the prosperity of Boston town centre, working tirelessly to achieve this goal. While the current administration inherited the projects mentioned in a recent article by the BBC, it is crucial to understand that the government investment came with strict criteria. Failing to adhere to these criteria would result in returning the funds, which we aim to avoid.

The much-anticipated Dance Again to Diggins Exhibition was officially opened on Saturday 12 October at Boston Guildhall. The invite only event featured speeches from Cllr Sarah Sharpe, Portfolio Holder for Culture at Boston Borough Council, along with Ron Diggins' friends, Brian Golland and Keith Feary.

As part of the preparation works for the Rosegarth Square Public Realm area, located on the Brownfield site at the edge of the town's conservation area, we are pleased to announce that Rocket Environmental Services has been appointed to undertake archaeological work. This includes providing expert advice, on-line and on-site services to allow the community to investigate a window into the site.

Businesses are being alerted to a new scam that has been attempted in the East Lindsey District.
