Boston Beach Events return to Central Park this summer

Posted on 14 July 2025

Boston Borough Council is delighted to announce the return of the popular Boston Beach Events, a series of free, inclusive community activities taking place in Central Park throughout this summer.

These events are designed to bring residents together in a relaxed, welcoming environment, offering something for everyone, from young children to older adults and individuals with additional support needs.

The programme begins with the Teddy Bears Picnic from 11am until 1pm on Wednesday 16 July, a fun-filled morning tailored for pre-school children and their parents or carers.

Families are encouraged to bring a picnic and their favourite teddy bear to enjoy story time with Boston Library, interactive play with the Children's Centre, Puppet Corner, and a variety of beach games.

The beach will also host a Golden Oldies event from 2pm until 4pm on Tuesday 22 July, a relaxed afternoon of music and memories for residents aged 50 and over, and those living with dementia and their carers. Attendees are invited to join the Singing For Fun group for a singalong featuring classic favourites in a friendly, beach-themed setting.

The final event in the series, Fun in the Sun, takes place from 1pm until 3pm on Tuesday 19 August. This inclusive afternoon of sports and games is designed for individuals living with additional support needs and their carers. Participants can enjoy a variety of accessible, engaging activities in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Each of the events are free to attend and align with the council's ongoing commitment to fostering community wellbeing, inclusion, and social connection through accessible public programming.

Councillor Anne Dorrian, Leader of Boston Borough Council, said: "We're really proud and excited to bring the Boston Beach Events back to Central Park this summer! These offer a series of free and inclusive activities that reflect the diverse needs of our community and which can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

"Whether it's a morning of storytelling and play for young children, a musical afternoon for older residents, or accessible games for those with additional support needs; these events are about creating a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy, in a friendly beach-themed setting.

"We look forward to seeing families, friends and local community groups come together to make the most of our of summer beach events."
