New CCTV cameras go live in Pescod Square
Boston Borough Council has announced that 12 new security cameras are now fully operational in the heart of Boston at the Pescod Square Shopping Centre.

£150,000 of funding was secured from the Boston Town Board and work has taken place over the last four weeks, with contractor Videcom leading on the install of the new cameras.
Boston Borough Council provides an extensive network of now more than 200 CCTV cameras covering the town centre and other public spaces.
The cameras will run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide maximum coverage of Pescod from the council's CCTV control room with specialist operators on hand to help keep local residents and visitors safe.
Councillor Anne Dorrian, Leader of Boston Borough Council said: "I'm thrilled to see the new cameras now in place at Pescod Square. We have an excellent working relationship with the Pescod team, and I'm confident these cameras will offer greater reassurance to local residents and visitors.
"As CCTV falls under my portfolio as Leader, I want it to be clear how seriously we take this - our goal is a town where everyone feels safe and welcome. CCTV is a proven deterrent to crime and our Community Safety team works closely with partners like Lincolnshire Police to ensure that Boston remains safe and vibrant."
Lisa Fitzgerald, Pescod Square Manager said: "It's great to have these 12 new cameras up and running here at Pescod Square, the number one priority for us is that all our shoppers coming to the centre feel safe and the new cameras are a welcome addition to existing measures.
"I'd like to thank Boston Borough Council and Videcom for all their hard work on getting this project over the line."
Jo Brigham, Chair of Boston Board said: "I'm really pleased to see these new cameras being incorporated at Pescod. Local people have told us that safety and security matters to them which is why the Board has been keen to invest funding in the new cameras.
"The CCTV cameras directly reflect the feedback that we have heard. We know CCTV can make people feel safer in the town, and it's great to see the number and the capability of the cameras increasing here in Boston."
